CYRILLE SERGE ATONFACK GUEMO

Navy Captain Atonfack Guemo Cyrille Serge boasts a distinguished career encompassing both military and academic spheres. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Yaoundé II, a diploma from the Higher Military School of Management and Maritime Law in Toulon, France, and a master’s degree in Maritime Law from the European Institute of Marine Studies in Brest, France. He further honed his expertise with a professional internship at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, Germany.
Captain Atonfack Guemo has held key positions within Cameroon’s Ministry of Defence, including lecturer on Maritime Law at the Research Centre for Political and Strategic Studies. His dedication to maritime security led him to serve as the rapporteur of the Operational Cell overseeing the implementation of maritime safety and security decisions in the Gulf of Guinea. Notably, he played a crucial role in establishing the Interregional Coordination Centre for maritime safety and security in Central and West Africa.
Currently, Captain Atonfack Guemo serves as the Technical Advisor to the Minister of Defence and the Head of the Communication Division, acting as the Spokesperson for the Cameroonian Armed Forces. A prolific author on maritime security, he has been recognized with numerous national and international decorations for his contributions.
